Continuing with my Ben Harper posts. Here is a vid I found of Ben being a cool guy. He seems so down to earth. If I could chill with any musician it would Ben. Any dead musician? The late Brad Nowell of Sublime.
I am getting geared up to go the the Ben Harper concert in Toronto at the Molson Ampitheater. I found this video of Ben playing at a spanish radio station and I am simply amazed. For anyone who knows this song "Morning Yearning" it sounds exactly like the album version except for the strings and drums. It's a rarity to hear an artist who sounds just as good live-solo if not better than album version. And yes, I made up the word live-solo.
Today, August 25th, 2006, is my baby brother's birthday. The year was 1983, in the little town of Estes Park Colorado, tucked away deep in the Rockies, Christopher Andrew Rayburn was born.
Chris now ironically has returned to his place of birth, to enjoy a hard working summer at the YMCA of the Rockies.
A birthday message for Chris.....
Chris, if you are reading this, good chance you have been told to, rather than come here on your own accord. Which is alright with me, as long as someone is reading it.
I was going to send you something but I am not too sure what you already have or don't have, and what you can use or not use. So I thought, for the time being at least, I would put this message up for you on my blog.
I hope all is well in Colorado, and I hope you are working hard, you know, singing kumbaya and playing footie. We all miss you here in The Town that Fun Forgot. I hope you have a good day today, you should go out and get drunk, and work your charm on the local cougars (women, not the local wildlife).
Chris, I miss you a lot buddy. I am not too sure what you plans are for the future, but I am sure I will see you on the flip side. Be good and have a cold pint for me. Have a happy 23rd birthday buddy, Merrick Mouth, Pea Boy, Makin' Waves Chrissy, Bathroom Brother, Baby Brother, Po-bre Cri, Chris.
Below is a little birthday greeting, watch it, love it, forget about it.
I will be thinking of you next weekend, you know, at the Ben Harper show at Molson amphitheater.
Iranian children, and their Saturday morning cartoons.
I can remember the day when I was just a little tyke. Waking up Saturday morning pouring yourself a bowl of the most sugary cereal I could find, running to the TV room, pj's still on and shirtless, and plopping myself 10 inches in front of the television. There was always some good laughs with the Looney Toons, of course my favorite was always Marvin the Martian, I am sure he was most or your favorites too. Other classics were Voltron, Jem, My Little Pony, Care Bears, and I am sure there is more that I have blocked out of my memory.
As I was wandering through the World Wide Web, I came across a children's cartoon from Iran.
I am not going to give my opinion, I will let you practice your freedom, and you can make up your own opinion.
All I have to say is this is brainwashing in it's greatest form....Iranian cartoons for the little tykes of Iran.
After a 2 week hiatus, I am back. For those who care, and I guess those that don't. I was off for 2 weeks, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 course for a week, and then took a week off work because I bought a house.
On moving day, I threw my back out. So I have been extremely lazy, pissed off, disgruntled, offline, and somewhat stoned from back drugs I somehow got from South America.
You will be seeing almost daily updates until I throw my back out next.
